4. Seychelles – Praslin Island
What’s a trip to Africa without feeling the heat on your bare skin? (With proper sunscreen, of course.) The Seychelles, a group of 16 islands northeast of Madagascar, offers a unique beach holiday away from the crowds and the commercial build-up of other beach fronts in other parts of the world. Mahe, the main island, and the transport hub from which to fly to the other islands, has the popular Beau Vallon Beach, but if you’re looking for more secluded beaches but with some amenities about, such as restaurants, hotels and shops, you may think of exploring one of the smaller islands, like Praslin, famous for a 2.5 km beach of golden sand, known as Anse Volbert.

5. Morocco – Marrakech
In this third largest city in Morocco, among the ancient Manera Gardens and El Badi and Royal palaces, the allure of the souks, the open markets with stalls with a myriad of wares, including carpets, clothing, bags, pottery, jewelry, among many, many others for sale, is overwhelming in the labyrinthine side streets. But that’s the excitement and immersion that you can expect of Marrakech. Reviewing the art of haggling is advisable if you want to save considerably.
