Bronycon

Nobody expected an animated show about happy ponies that was made for little girls to also attract a huge following of teenage boys. However almost 10,000 “Bronies”, who on average around 21 years old, gather each year to celebrate the magic of friendship together.

National Hobo Convention

If you’ve ever dreamed of riding the rails but hate being smelly, be a hobo for just one day at the National Hobo Convention in Britt, Iowa. Dress up in your best rags and you could even be crowned King or Queen Hobo.

Never heard of The Big Lebowski? “Obviously you’re not a golfer”. Fans of this 1998 Coen Brothers film get together each year for Lebowski Fest where they can cuss, drink White Russians and bowl to their heart’s content. Think it sounds lame? Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.”
