20 Reasons to Quit Your Job and Travel

Every day we find out about new people who decided to quit their jobs and travel around the world — it’s always fascinating! When you stop to research and understand what makes someone take the leap of faith, you get surprised.

If you’re reading this article, I’d argue you’re seriously considering doing the same thing and just need that extra nudge! Well, I’m glad to say there are endless reasons for people to take the plunge and start traveling full-time, but I chose the most common ones to pique your interest.

Here they are:

1. Meet new people

I’m pretty sure you can meet people where you live, but they’re likely to be fellow countrymen enjoying a similar culture. The exciting thing about meeting people while traveling is that they come from everywhere! These people have completely different backgrounds, probably have a different mother tongue and will connect with you in unique ways.

2. Reassess your career

Sometimes we stop to look at our lives and though they’re not bad, they might not be what we dreamed of. If you’re constantly thinking that you should be working in another industry, maybe you really should! It’s not uncommon to see people coming back from a long trip changing the path of their careers. It might be the perfect time to do just that.

3. Absorb world history and art

Were you ever a history addict? Did you use to imagine how the Mayans lived? Or the Romans? Is it your dream to see Picasso’s paintings?

I cannot explain how I felt when I first saw the Mona Lisa or walked through the ruins of Machu Picchu. Most of what you learned at school/college is still out there. And if you really want to, you can see it with your own eyes!
