Volunteering sometimes is akin to working for accommodation and board, but you’re usually doing it for a greater cause. Although there are some programs where you have to pay a hefty fee to participate, the majority will happily accommodate you for free.
The beautiful thing about volunteering is that it’s not only about saving money. When you’re helping locals building a school or maybe teaching English, you’re using your skills to create a better community, who’ll probably be forever grateful.
