The San Alfonso del Mar private resort in Algarrobo, Chile, claims to have the largest swimming pool in the world. Unfortunately, since then, the title has been taken by another man-made lagoon which was built in Egypt.

However, the Alfonso del Mar swimming pool is still spectacular. It stretches for 0.6 miles, and it cost over $3.5 million just to build the filtration system that keeps it running. If you want to have access to the pool, you’ll have to rent an apartment at this swanky resort.
