2. Hozu River – Japan
The Hozu River runs from the mountains near Kameoka to Arashiyama, which is a district on the western outskirts of Kyoto. Originally used to transport logs and grains, it’s now a fun tourist attraction.
The boat tour is quite popular during the cherry blossom season, as well as when the leaves change colors in autumn. The cruises still use traditional flat bottomed boats, which are guided by bamboo poles through the rapids.
