Calico, California
Once a silver mining location in Southern California, Calico hit its peak in the 1880s and started its decline in the 1890s as a result of a plunge in the price of silver. By the early 1900s, Calico was officially a ghost town. It was restored in the 1950s and is now a park in San Bernardino County. Visitors can tour the old mines and buildings to get a glimpse of Calico’s past.
