Every year, this music festival takes over Woodbine Park for a free festival celebrating everything African. What’s even more amazing is that the festival is free for all who come, and has been since 1990. Run by an organization called Music Africa, which has a mandate to promote African music in Toronto, Afrofest is just one of their several events yearly. Last year, Afrofest hosted at least 35 live performances seen by over 100,000 people!
