8. Bay of Kotor, Croatia
Although Croatia has always been a popular tourist destination, many people stick to destinations like Hvar and Split along the Adriatic coast, neglecting areas of outstanding natural beauty like the Bay of Kotor. The Bay of Kotor has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most beautiful areas in all of Eastern Europe.
One side of the bay is full of green jutting cliffs, while the other has been adorned with beautiful architecture by centuries of craftsmen. There are tons of villages dotted around the area, including Kotor, Herceg Novi, and Perast, a well-preserved Baroque village.
