9. Théoule-sur-Mer, France
Located in the scenic Alpes-Maritimes region of France, Théoule-sur-Mer is a beautiful holiday town sheltered in a small cove on the Estérel coast. The sheltering cove has given the town both sandy beaches and moderate temperatures, which have provided a respite to French city dwellers for centuries. Popular pastimes in Théoule-sur-Mer include swimming, sailing, water-skiing, and golf, and you can also hike through the nearby Tanneron forest.
There are plenty of resorts in the area, and in the summer when the town gets busy, there are free shows and concerts in the open-air amphitheater of the Palais Bulles, the holiday home of famous designer Pierre Cardin.
