The Most Breathtaking Libraries
Central Library of Vancouver
Location: Vancouver, Canada
This library stands out because of its immense size. Taking up an entire city block, the nine-story reflective building is hard to miss! It is shaped like a modern-day colosseum and has become iconic in Vancouver because it brings a little uniqueness to a city with a skyline that is typically criticized.
When you enter the Central Library of Vancouver, you first walk into a huge naturally lit concourse that is full of stores, restaurants, and coffee shops. This area is a popular meeting spot in the city. The center of the building holds the bulk of the library’s content and is accessible by glass bridges. The building holds over 9.5 million items including books, eBooks, CDS, newspapers, and magazines.
