Geisel Library
Location: San Francisco, California
This modern and shiny structure is the main library of the University of California in San Diego, and has quite an eye-catching design. Because of this, the building has become the most distinctive and recognizable building on campus and is now a part of the UC San Diego official logo.
The Geisel Library was named after Theodor Seuss Geisel, who is more widely known as Dr. Seuss. Besides containing over seven million books, this library also houses a collection of Dr. Seuss’ work. The collection includes over 8,500 items such as original drawings, proofs, notebooks, manuscripts, books, and photographs. There is even a bronze statue of The Cat in the Hat!
