4. Tashkurgan, China
Most of China’s tourism is centered along the eastern edge of the country. The city of Tashkurgan lies along the west side of China, on the border with Tajikistan.
There are interesting ruins and fortifications all around the city – the amazing Zoroastrian temple ruins should be first on your list. Also this region once played a central role in establishing the Silk Road, which connected China with the rest of Western Asia.
