6. El Nido, Philippines
The Philippine beach town of El Nido is surrounded by more than 45 uninhabited islands, which makes it the perfect destination for a camping or diving expedition. Getting there might take a while. It’s a six-hour bus ride from the nearest large city, Puerto Princesa, but once you arrive, the options for eating, drinking, and sleeping are plentiful and cheap.
There are lots of options for boat tours which will take you in and around the lagoons between the islands, or you can paddle yourself in a kayak. Take a break on one of the islands and you may find that you have the entire place to yourself.
