Frozen Dead Guy Days, Colorado

This is not your average festival, especially with a name like “Frozen Dead Guy Days.” The event started in 2002 and takes place every year in March in Nederland, a Colorado mountain village. Now if your ideal festival involves any event that lets you soak up the sun and sunbathe on a beach then this event is not for you. According to their website, this bone-chilling, three-day event features “coffin racing, costumed polar plunging, frozen t-shirt contests and much more.” But if you really need to warm up the festival does have heated tents and live music!

The event was inspired by deceased resident, Bredo Morstel, who has apparently been preserved in ice by his grandson, so maybe one day he can attend the event?
