My father is a Captain in the Navy, which means we got access to VIP waiting areas. Depending on which base you are flying out of, there may be a range of perks for any passengers (like free popcorn!). But the distinguished guests lounge has some additional benefits: A smaller, more comfortable waiting area (often with couches and desks), access to a computer and/or TV, and occasionally nice drinks or faster wifi.
