10 Must-See Harry Potter Sights

5. Lacock Abbey

Lacock Abbey is actually an abbey-turned-manor-house, but a good portion of the oldest parts of the building have been maintained. You’ll often see these bits pop up in television (Galavant) and films (Harry Potter, obviously).

In these rooms, you’ll find the setting for the Mirror of Erised scene, and both Snape and Quirrell’s classrooms. Snape’s still has a huge caldron in it.

If you wander out of the abbey and into the town, you can find both Potter’s house (from a glimpse in Philosopher’s Stone) and Budleigh Babberton (Slughorn’s temporary lodging). Budleigh Babberton is on the edge of the village’s main area, but fairly easy to recognize.

To get to Lacock, you’ll need to be on a tour bus or in a car. It’s a National Trust property, so you can get in free with membership.
