10 Must-See Harry Potter Sights
7. Warner Bros. Studio Tours
If you’re a mild fan like myself, the Studio Tours are amazing just to gawk at the detail of the sets, designs, and graphics. There is plenty to admire on a purely filmmaking and storytelling basis.
But if you’re an enthusiastic fan, this place is basically Heaven.
Seriously. Some of my friends cried.
When you buy your ticket, which I recommend getting online, you purchase a timed entrance to the studios. After a short introduction to the studio from a tour guide, you are free to wander the rooms at your own pace.
Pro tip: Go in on the last slot so that no groups are coming in behind you. Then, with some careful heel-dragging, you’ll end up with the place practically to yourself.
Inside, you’ll find things like: The Gryffindor Common Room, Dumbledore’s office, an entire wall of letters and newspapers, exterior sets in the courtyard, tiny paper models for settings… It goes on and on. This will easily take several hours.
Also, they have a pretty mean gift shop.
To get to the studio with public transport, take the Tube to Watford Junction. From there, you can catch a bus directly to the studio. (It’s hard to miss–all sorts of Harry Potter characters are painted on the side.) You’ll need to have a booking confirmation or Studio Tour ticket before you board.
