10 Must-See Harry Potter Sights

6. Alnwick Castle
In Northumberland, AKA the far north, Alnwich Castle was used for exterior shots of Hogwarts in several of the films. You might recognize the space from Quidditch, the infamous flying Ford Anglia, and other scenes. It’s a legit Castle, exciting in its own right — but the filming perks don’t hurt.
Alnwick is accessible by train, bus, or car. Please note that the castle closes for the winter season. You can still see some of the exterior off-season, though. There is an especially good view if you cross the River Aln via the bridge and look across at the castle from the fields.
