9. The Millennium Bridge
Remember the bridge destroyed by Death Eaters in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Well, that is the Millennium Bridge, known to locals as the “Wobbly Bridge.” This very expensive, almost universally hated bridge was famously opened in 2000. For about a day.
After pedestrians complained about the bridge swaying, it was promptly closed. Two years of construction and engineering work followed before it reopened in 2002. Now it runs from St. Paul’s Cathedral over to the Tate Modern and Globe theatre.
The bridge is easily accessed on foot. Blackfriars or Mansion House are the closest Tube stations.
