Another Mission-style burrito place that made it to the top of the rankings was Taqueria Cancun, also located in San Francisco’s Mission district. The fillings in their gigantic burritos were all amazing, but the one that caught the judges’ attention was the al pastor — deeply flavored with chilis and pineapple. Ordering a super burrito adds a healthy amount of rice, sour cream, and cheese, which is needed to mellow out the rich meat. At Taqueria Cancun, they use slices of avocado instead of guacamole, but they’re placed carefully so you’ll never have an avocado-less bite. They also offer a veggie burrito that actually stands up to their carnivorous offerings.
