Provence – France
One of the most iconic images of France has to be the rolling fields of lavender that have made Provence a world-renowned tourism destination. If you’re interested in photographing, picking, or learning how to distill lavender, a holiday in Provence should definitely be at the top of your bucket list. The best time to go is between June and August, and the best areas for lavender-spotting are in the Luberon, Sault, and Valreas regions. If you’re interested in history as well as lavender soaps, syrups, and sachets, there’s a Lavender Museum in Cabrières-d’Avignon that’s definitely worth a visit.
