The Most Beautiful Religious Buildings in the World

Notre-Dame Basilica – Montreal, Canada
Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal looks remarkably similar to other churches from the outside. Once you step inside, you’ll quickly realize how unique this building is. The outside is plain gray stone, but the inside is painted in shades of deep blue, purple, and green, with gold stars everywhere.
The color flows from the altar all the way to the ceiling above the congregation. The church as it stands now was completed in 1843, but continuing improvements, including a complete rebuild of the first two levels, are ongoing.
