20 Reasons to Quit Your Job and Travel
9. Improve your health
Every now and then we disconnect from our bodies and minds and it can hurt us. It’s very common for people to go on 10-day meditation retreats or attend a yoga course in India for three months. Sometimes your body needs to “reset,” you need to set your priorities straight so you can and exercise properly once you get home.
10. Study abroad
Whether you’re on an exchange program for six months, a master’s for a year or just learning a new language, you’ll love it! When you move to a new country, everything can be different and you’re challenged every day. It’s great to experience new teaching formats and at the same time delve into a new culture.
11. Be one with nature
Sometimes you need more than just having a picnic at your local park. Traveling is the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature to its fullest. You could spend some time in Organic Farms in New Zealand, see wild animals in the Amazon or even explore the vastness of Salar de Uyuni. There’s plenty of untouched beauty for you out there!
12. Volunteer
Do you have skills that could potentially help other people? You don’t think so? Several poor communities and young children all over the world might need support right now. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a skilled carpenter, a great swimmer or know how to care for wild animals, I’m sure you’ll find a program for you.
13. You’re still young
If you compare how the older generation travels with how the youngsters do it, you’ll see that the interests vary wildly. That’s not a bad thing though! But you have to take into consideration that you’re more likely to risk a lot more when you’re young. You probably care less about comfort, you’ll go skydiving and most importantly, you heal from hangovers faster!
