20 Reasons to Quit Your Job and Travel
14. Experience international romance
What if I told you that I’m Brazilian, my wife’s British and we met in New Zealand? I’m not saying you’ll be as lucky as we were, but if you’re single, traveling might be the best way to find the love of your life. You’ll also have the chance to experience another culture in a more intimate way and you’ll never be alone.
15. Spread your knowledge
Have you ever considered teaching English abroad? Nowadays the demand for native speakers is super high and the pay can be competitive. Usually, you need an undergrad degree and some sort of TEFL certification for the best jobs and a proper visa, but you can still find something even if you don’t have either.
16. Challenge yourself
I love stories about people who are cycling around the world, climbing the highest peaks or visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Or the two girls who traveled from Thailand back to the UK by tuk-tuk!
The point is that traveling can be a great way to challenge yourself and as you can see, it doesn’t have to be doing something serious!
17. Practice sports
One of my friends likes marathons and he goes around the world doing them. Another one loves diving and is currently visiting the best diving spots in the world. If you’re passionate about a sport, why don’t you carry on doing it while you’re traveling? I’m sure you’ll find local groups everywhere that will welcome you with open arms.
18. Eat amazing food
This is by far one of the best reasons to travel! If you’re into food and love trying new restaurants, imagine tasting the real deal! The freshest ceviche in Peru? The authentic Pad Thai in Thailand? The one and only Margherita pizza in Italy?
I could go on forever, but you get the idea. Apart from eating, you could also learn the dishes by taking cooking classes.
