As much as you want to make sure you have an adequate supply of the required currency before your trip, you want to make sure to get rid of as much of it as you can while you’re there. There are certain currencies that banks will not re-exchange upon your return home, especially coins. Returning with money that you had to exchange for in the first place also hits you with double the processing fee.
