This giant salamander-like creature roams the rivers and ponds of Japan. Kappa reportedly have a tricky and often violent personality, mixed in with a little mischief. Moreover, the creature seems to have a thing for drowning anyone who hits the water’s edge. In fact, children have been warned in the past to stay away from water as the Kappa are infamous for luring kids in, just to pull them under and hold them down.
