12 of the World’s Most Colorful Beaches

Glass Beach, Fort Bragg, California
A beach made of glass shards that was once a dump doesn’t sound like the kind of place where you’d want to spend the day, but we promise it’s a sight to behold. Glass Beach in Fort Bragg was once a water dumpsite, but was finally closed and cleaned up by the city in 1967. Since then the glass and pottery shards left behind were made smooth by the waves, turning them into brightly colored rocks that some people even collect. The best finds are bright red pebbles made from old taillights and green gems that were once apothecary bottles.
