Kokkini Beach, Santorini, Greece
Another red beach on our list can be found on the Greek island of Santorini, which was once known as Thira in ancient times. At Kokkini Beach, not only is the sand red, but so are the cliffs and rocks due to a volcanic eruption that devastated the island in 1650 BC. In recent years, the beach has been declared unsafe for visitors due to the high risk of landslides in the area. However, many people still choose to visit at their own risk to catch a glimpse of the Mars-like terrain.
