Ireland is no slouch in the lighthouse department. Located at the tip of the Hook Peninsula, the current manifestation of the Hook Head Lighthouse was built in the 12th century, though there was a beacon at the site much earlier. And if touring an 800-year-old medieval tower isn’t exciting enough for you, you can always keep watch for dolphins and whales.
