Nienhagen Ghost Wood
Nienhagen, which is a small area between the towns of Heiligendamm and Warnemünde on the Baltic Sea, is mostly forested with only small pockets of habitation. Locals who walk through the woods started calling it Ghost Wood, after reporting feelings of unease while walking between the forest and the sea at night. This could be because the old forest has been shaped aggressively by wind and water coming off the sea, and as a result the trees are twisted and stripped of bark, leaving them white and ghostly.
