This massive museum located in the Pudong area of Shanghai, China, is full of exhibits celebrating our technological and scientific accomplishments. Opened in 2001, there are 13 permanent collections and a rotating complement of visiting exhibitions in the temporary exhibition halls. It also contains a large educational cinema, which screens over 10,000 movies a year.
The museum receives between two and three million visitors a year. Make sure to visit the massive central atrium — it’s the huge glass sphere in the very center of the museum.
