Tallest Unoccupied Buildings in the World

7. Torre David
The Tower of David, or Torre David, in Caracas was destined to be one of the tallest buildings in Venezuela when it was first conceived in the 1990s, but it has now become a notorious “vertical slum.”
Built by David Brillembourg of Confinanzas Group Bank, the 45-story tower was meant to serve as the company’s headquarters. But after a financial crisis and Brillembourg’s sudden passing, the project was halted in 1994. Many parts of the building are so unfinished that they are exposed to the elements, but that hasn’t deterred thousands of squatters who’ve taken up residence in the incomplete tower.
