Tallest Unoccupied Buildings in the World

6. Fontainebleau Resort

This Vegas hotel was intended to be a top destination, but is now the most expensive billboard on the strip. The Fontainebleau Resort was a $3 billion project that started construction in 2007, but went unfinished after the original developer went bankrupt during the 2009 financial crisis.

Las Vegas business magnate Carl Ichan bought the property in 2010 giving Vegas residents hope that he might attempt to open the hotel. But Ichan auctioned off the furniture and decor shortly after purchasing and is now attempting to sell the property for $650 million. It’s estimated that another $1.5 billion in funds would be needed to complete the 3,889-room hotel.
