The Plaza Tower is a familiar part of the New Orleans skyline, but this 45-story building has been empty since 2002 with no signs of reopening on the horizon. The office tower was built in the mid 1960s and was in use for decades.

By 2001, the tenants, who included the district attorney’s office, began complaining of disrepair. By 2002, the building was abandoned due to mold and asbestos issues and has since changed owners numerous times with little to no repairs being made.
