House Spirits Distillery, which has been in operation since 2004, is located in the heart of Portland’s Central Eastside district, and truly embodies the Portland maker spirit. They have a curated line of spirits, but they only produce one definitive variety of each- they carry a rum, a single malt whiskey, a vodka, and an aquavit — an anise-flavored spirit most frequently found in northern Europe. They also experiment regularly, so you can often buy small bottles of their experimental spirits at their downtown Portland tasting room.
