A mass volcanic eruption would be good news only to the tiniest of earth’s organisms. Microbes that have existed on this earth for millions of years have already survived numerous volcanic events and some even prefer to exist in extreme heat and acidity.
Yellowstone volcano is currently home to many such microbes which scientists are studying in order to learn more about the possibility of life on other planets. That knowledge will certainly come in handy should this volcanic doomsday scenario come true and we need to evacuate our current planet.
