There is a comfort that comes from making a connection with someone different from you. It’s rewarding to communicate across a language barrier, or talk with someone about their very different upbringing, or engage with the stranger next to you on the bus. (I am an introvert, and even I think so!)

But it’s also comforting to make connections with nature. Feast your eyes on dramatic new landscapes, or walk barefoot on the beach. Pet a wild pony or sit in a field with a fox. Enjoy being present in the moment with the people and the land you find yourself around.
