12. Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival – Ireland

Although the rural Irish town of Lisdoonvarna is tiny, every year tens of thousands of people overwhelm the teeny village when they pour in for the annual Matchmaking Festival. Lisdoonvarna is the home of Willie Daly, Ireland’s last traditional matchmaker, and it’s rumored that if you touch his lucky matchmaking book with both hands, you’ll be married within six months. Although the festival started off small, it’s now a month-long party with plenty of live entertainment, dancing, and matchmaking events.
