7. Buñuelos – Colombia
These tasty little dough balls known as buñuelos can be found all over Spain, Latin America, and South America. Although they originated in Spain, they’re now a popular Christmastime treat in many places including Colombia, where they’re formed around sweet white cheese curds, deep-fried, and served with either a milk or egg-based custard. They’re often considered a symbol of good luck, and are a popular sweet treat during the holiday season.
