5. Cave Diving – Yucatan, Mexico
Considered one of the most dangerous types of diving, cave diving originated in the UK, and it’s a subspecialty of caving, where people generally explore regular, non-waterfilled caves. Divers need to be experts in navigation, gas management, and swimming in tight spaces.
The Yucatan Peninsula is particularly special as it has a network of around 10 km of navigable flooded caves and thousands of cenotes, which are natural sinkholes filled with water.
