In the Movies: Movie Locations You Can Actually Visit
| July 31, 2017
7. Ambrose’s Headquarters – Mission: Impossible 2
Ambrose’s headquarters in Mission: Impossible 2 are set on a tiny island far away from the mainland – perfect for a villain’s secret hideaway. The film was largely shot in Australia, and the little island that served as Ambrose’s HQ is called Bare Island in Bottany Bay.
The buildings were digitally added to the movie, except for the little castle turret, but you can walk out and visit the island itself, which is accessible by a lovely little walking bridge. The bridge itself plays a starring role in the movie, when Tom Cruise guns it on a motorcycle off the bridge in one of the most famous shots.
