National Museum of the Royal Navy – Portsmouth, England
The British Royal Navy has a long history of dominating the sea, so it makes sense that their museums are all located in the ports where they still set sail. Although the National Museum of the Royal Navy organization manages several historic sites, the largest is the Portsmouth museum, which is located in the historic dockyards of Britain’s most influential port city, Portsmouth.
The historic ships that are docked in Portsmouth, as well as the ones around Britain that are open for visitors all contain plenty of interesting and unique artifacts left over from their lives in active service.
