| November 16, 2016
Beijing, China
China is a country that’s rich in history, culture and… smog. In Beijing, the pollution is especially thick and between 2008 and 2014, the air quality index was at an unhealthy level (151-200) 45% of the time. To put that in perspective, the World Health Organization considers 25 to be an acceptable level. Children in Beijing no longer go outside for recess and some schools have erected inflatable domes for students to play in and built airlocks at the entryways of their classrooms.
