17. Seek Help When You Need It

Despite all your preparation, things will still go wrong. When they do, don’t be afraid to find help. I once lost my meter during a flight and didn’t realize it until I arrived in Iceland. I found a pharmacy and explained the situation, and they were able to find an ancient meter still in stock that they no longer sold. They gave it to me for free and supplied me with enough blood strips to last my time there. What could have been an absolute disaster turned out okay because I went to get help.
