The Best and Worst Airlines Flying Today
| March 5, 2018
2. Spirit Airlines
Spirit Airlines is the only two-star airline that’s still allowed to operate within the United States. While it’s acceptable that they charge for add-on amenities like luggage and food like most other low-cost airlines, their strict no-refund policy is what makes their customers the most agitated.
They were recently fined $375,000 for violating Federal Aviation Administration policy after it was revealed that they regularly flouted regulations regarding delayed baggage, and refused to compensate bumped passengers. They also increased their fees for checked bags in 2014 to a ridiculous $47, in an effort to try and decrease the amount of checked baggage they would have to transport.
