Why You Should Consider Slow Travel

3. You Might Learn the Language
There’s no better way to fully immerse yourself in a new culture than to learn the language and talk to the people. Not only will you understand everything that’s going on around you, but it’s also more likely that you’ll be welcomed by the locals who appreciate your effort in learning the language.
A good place to start is to learn as much of the language prior to your trip. Once you get there, maybe do a course to strengthen your skills. In that way, you’ll have the chance to truly get the “local experience.”
