Although no one has seen them move in person, these rocks, which can weigh up to 100 lbs., leave trails in their wake that indicate their movement. Scientists have caught the stones in action in time lapse footage, but they are still trying to figure out the exact cause of this phenomenon. It’s believed that it has something to do with a combination of water, ice, and wind.
