Smithfield
Location: Southern Virginia
Smithfield is a small town in the South Hampton Roads area and is famous for its Smithfield hams. The town was first colonized way back in 1634 and much of the main street you see today is from the 1800s. With charming Victorian mansions, yummy eateries, and eccentric shops, this is one of the best classic main street walks in America. And if you want to learn more about the history of ham production, there’s a museum for that.
