Canal Walk (Richmond)
Location: Middle o’ Virginia
Statues, exhibits, and medallions mark this Canal Walk through Richmond’s four centuries of history. From things like the first [“commercially successful”] streetcar system to cool railroad crossings, this walk is both scenic and fun. George Washington was a big fan of canals, and numerous engineers throughout history had their hand in the Richmond canals’ design. Also along the way, you’ll find shops and restaurants and relaxing places to rest your feet.
